In 1840, Anna the 7th Duchess of Bedford, became tired of the long interval between lunch and dinner. After inviting her friends to join her each afternoon, she ordered a tray of tea and cake brought to her room. Thus, the word spread and Afternoon Tea became an English tradition. 

Hicks & McCarthy authentically recreates a proper afternoon tea. From the fresh in-house baked scones to the clotted cream, the little tea sandwiches to the delicious fruit tarts, everything is as it should be. 

Your tea service is presented on genuine Burleighware, produced since 1850 in Stoke-On-Trent, England.

Tea Service Hours

Afternoon Tea is served Thursday - Saturday from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Such a special experience requires a reservation and

time set aside to enjoy a relaxing afternoon with family or friends.  To make a reservation, please call at least one day in

advance as all of the pastries are homemade: (585) 586-0938 

   

Loose Leaf Tea Selections

Hicks House Blend - Fruity yet malty flavors with a tannic red-wine finish. 

Darjeeling - A full bodied, golden tea grown on the southern slopes of the Himalayas. 

Earl Grey - The traditional blend of Indian, Chinese and Sri Lankan teas with oil of Bergamot. 

English Breakfast - Full-leaf, high-grown Assam, Nilgiri, and Ceylon black teas. 

Chunmee Green - One of the most flavorful green teas.  Fine curled leafs brewed to a golden color.

Ginger-Peach - A blend of delicious peach pieces and ginger. 

Celon Orange Pekoe (D) - Bright amber color and an elegant finish. 

Orange Blossom Herbal (D) - Orange blossom petals, sweet hibiscus flowers and delicious rose

petals. 

Honey Bush Vanilla Herbal (D) - Delicious tisane with a rich honey overtone, flavored with

genuine Madagascar vanilla beans.
